New goals for 2012

2011 was a good year on Squidoo, especially for learning. Although I didn't earn a huge amount, I did learn a lot.
I now have 57 Squidoo lenses, 19 trophies and I am on level 47.
I spend at least an hour on Squidoo everyday, usually more, and I am constantly trying to improve the lenses I already have and read and research on how to improve my lenses.
In 2011 I managed to make my first 3 Amazon sales, which I was very happy about, as it gave me motivation to carry on.
I also have on average around 8 lenses in the top 85,000, 2 of which drift in and out between Tier 2 and Tier 3 lenses.

My goals now are:
  • To update the lenses I already have and make them worthy enough to be receiving a decent amount of daily traffic.
  • To make more Amazon sales.
  • To become a Giant Squid. ( really want that lens template)

Fun Squidoo Polls

I love taking polls, and here on Squidoo, both the participant and the lens master can earn points from polls, which is great.
So I figured I would create a lens purely for polls, mostly based on Squidoo, but some other random polls too, so watch out for those.  See more.....

An awesome lense and a very cool tool for Squidoo users.

Everyday I try to read some other Squidoo lenses for tips and tricks, I usually learn something new everyday, which is cool. Anyway, I wanted to share this great lense today as it is from someone who is fairly new to Squidoo, but has been persistent and the rewards are starting to show. Fast Money Making with Squidoo.                                                                                                                               Another great tool I wanted to share today is this: SquidUtils.  There are many features on this site that are great for those that use Squidoo and make lenses. One of the best tools on this site is the lense health checker. It digs deep into your lense and shows you how well your lense is doing. It's lense ranks over the last seven days. Tips on how to make the lense rank better and so much more. It is definitely worth checking out if you use Squidoo

Google+(plus). The New Exciting Rival to Facebook

I was reading up on today's news earlier, and read something about Facebook partnering up with Skype and adding a video calling feature, when there was something in the article that mentioned Googles new rival to Facebook, known as Google+. So I looked into it and it's still in a trial stage, but it looks pretty damn good.                                           So I decided to do a lense about it to try and help get the word out, not that Google are going to need much help with this, but anyway here it is.  Google+(plus). I did a lens about Banksy. Grafitti artist.

Banksy is someone I admire, not just for his talented artwork, but for the messages he portrays in them. He is controversial and has a way of getting that message across. Quite often Banksy has featured in the news for some stunt he has pulled which involves a piece of his artwork.   A while ago, a group of us started a little project, trying to get people more aware of Banksy and his work, so this lense includes some of that work.  Banksy: Graffiti Legend.

A day of creating backlinks to my Squidoo lenses.

Today my aim is to create back-links to all my lenses and add all those places I submit to on here to give others ideas of where they can also submit to. Building backlinks helps greatly, not only with your lense rank, but also with Google ranking.

I made my first GIFT Squidoo lense for my friend San

When I was searching around the Squidoo site over the weekend, I noticed that it was not only possible to buy and sell lenses, but also make gift lenses for your friends.                                                                                                                                                                             So I decided to make one for my friend San, who I am on this Squidoo journey with. We help each other out and if one of us learns something new, or has a great idea, we share it and work together on it. So I made the lense for San and added lots of links to all her online writing ventures and sent her the email. She accepted it and made a few adjustments, which I was fine with. The idea was that I put the initial work into it to make it look good, with the borders ect, and let her then add anything she desired to make it even better.                                                                                      Here is the Squidoo gift lense I made for my Friend San.  AskSan Anything
